With Faith Comes Purpose

“When you have faith in God, you don’t have to worry about the future. You just know it is all in his hands. You just have to go and do your best.” Elder Bryan

We must accept the truth that eventually, we all will pass on from this life. This reality is one of the many things that is out of our control, however, the fact that our time on Earth is finite inherently gives life meaning and purpose. How many of you would put off to tomorrow, what you could do today, if you thought you had all the time in the world? I became aware of a motto along the lines of, “Procrastinators Unite…Tomorrow!” You get the idea. Live your life like time is a precious asset, step out in faith and pursue meaningful endeavors with a sense of urgency. Treat life like today is a gift, and tomorrow is not a given. See how that perspective changes your life if you allow it to take root.

The greatest inhibitor of growth is the fear of failure or the unknown. When we stop believing in ourselves, and the strength God put inside each of us, we start to become complacent or worse, we avoid that which is worth pursuing because we think the good that would come from it is not worth the struggle. I am here to tell you that the struggles you fear and avoid, are actually the very things that make the journey worth taking. There is a reason that is said we learn far more from a loss, than from a victory. The tough times strengthen your resolve, make you appreciate the good times, and teach you how to more effectively handle both similar and unknown challenges that lie ahead on your path.

The pursuit of perfection is fruitless. Strive to be better by the end of today, than you were yesterday. God doesn’t expect us to be perfect, he simply wants us to do our best to be good to ourselves, and to others. He sees inside our hearts, knows our intentions, and wants us to live meaningful, purposeful lives with the time he has given us. Have faith that if you pursue matters that enrich your life, and those around you, that God will be with you all the way.

I challenge you to do something today, that you have been putting off, and invest all of your energy and focus into it. Yes, our lives are full of mundane tasks and routines that we must dedicate much of our time to, but there is always time if you make the effort to create it. See my “Triple 20 Challenge” on my site for assistance with this matter. Adopt the perspective that there are endless opportunities in your life that are there for the taking, you simply have to get up, get moving, and chase them down. I hope you leave here feeling inspired to take action, to use your God given time effectively, and to pursue a life worth living.

As always, take care, God bless, and be well.
